I’ve added a link to Jim Fergusson’s excellent Railway Stations of the World, which provides details of railway stations in Tasmania. Enjoy!

  1. At Zeehan on the West Coast, there s a Museum where you can learn about mining and pioneer history. In Hobart, the Tasmania Transport Museum has a large collection of steam and diesel locomotives and rolling stock, including trolley buses. On the North-West Coast at Devonport the Don River Railway and Museum has Tasmania s largest collection of steam and diesel locomotives and you can ride on a diesel or steam train to Coles Beach. They also have a restoration workshop in Launceston. While in that city you might like to visit the Tramway Museum, and learn about life when the city had trams via a photographic history, and even take a ride on a fully restored tram.
